The trend toward crossover vehicles has opened up a host of opportunities for inventive, in-vehicle storage solutions.

One of Cadence Innovation's answers is Sandwiform®, a patented material that elevates in-vehicle cargo systems to a new level. Sandwiform® is the lightest material on the market for its strength, and is exceptionally cost effective in cargo management applications.

Made entirely of recyclable polypropylene, Sandwiform® consists of a unique hybrid honeycomb structure, wrapped and reinforced with a glass-woven polypropylene skin.

Sandwiform® meets or exceeds all load-floor specifications for both durability and weight, often coming in under weight targets in many specific applications.

The material can be customized to meet specific requirements for aesthetics, structural integrity and weight by altering its dimensions. It can be formed into complex, highly detailed shapes, and as Sandwiform® uses a low-pressure molding process, decorative finishes can be placed in the mold and integrated into the finished product, eliminating the need for secondary manufacturing operations.

On a new frontier in interior flexibility, Cadence Innovation is developing structural seat backs. When folded flat, these provide a solid, level load floor; they can be folded up as dividers, and also can serve as a concealment shade or upper shelf when the seats are upright.

The result is, innovative work by Cadence's design team is creating a multi-function system that will add value but not cost to the vehicle.
